With tough times ahead carnivals and festivals provide that temporary escape from the reality of everyday life. For a brief moment in our lives, we forget about our worries temporarily. I wasn’t surprised that the Royal Melbourne Show registered an increase in attendance this year.
Australia has been “sheltered” from events that are occupying the 24/7 news channels around the world, but people are wary of what can happen and a sunny day out having fun is cheaper on the wallet than a full fledged holiday. It’s that temporary escape we all need in our lives.
